What are BIMeta's Community Guidelines?
The Community Guidelines set expectations for everyone on the platform. They cover:
- Respect and professionalism
- Relevant and quality contributions
- Intellectual property and copyright
- Safety and privacy
- Moderation and reporting
- Compliance with laws and regulations
Not following them can lead to warnings, content removal, or temporary or permanent suspension of account privileges. Read the full policy
What kind of content should I post on BIMeta?
BIMeta asks for content directly related to architecture, engineering, or construction, such as case studies, BIM discussions, research on building materials, or constructive feedback on designs. Posts should be accurate and backed by credible sources where possible. Off-topic content (like unrelated memes or vacation photos), spam, and excessive self-promotion are considered inappropriate. Can I share someone else's drawings, plans, or other copyrighted work?
Only if you have the rights, licenses, or permissions to do so. You must not share copyrighted material without authorization, and you should credit the original creators. BIMeta may remove content or suspend or terminate accounts for intellectual property violations. Read the full policy
What does BIMeta expect around privacy and confidential information?
Don't share personal information about other people without their explicit consent, and get proper authorization before posting confidential or proprietary information. Hacking, unauthorized access, and distributing malicious software are prohibited, and privacy or safety concerns should be reported through the platform's reporting tools. Read the full policy
How do I report a user or a post?
To report a user, go to their page (or click their name in a chat), click the three dots, and choose Report User. To report a post, tap the down arrow on the post and select Report Post; you can un-report it afterwards if needed. A BIMeta administrator then reviews the report against BIMeta's policies. Read more
Are there other ways to report a problem besides the in-app button?
Yes. You can also use the contact form on BIMeta's web portal or email [email protected]. When reporting, include as much detail as you can, such as the username, date, and a description of the violation. Read the full policy
What happens after I file a report?
You'll be offered the option to block the account you reported and will receive a confirmation email (check your spam folder if you don't see it). The moderation team reviews each case; how long that takes depends on factors like severity, available evidence, and report volume. If action is taken for the reason you selected, you'll get an email telling you what was done. Read the full policy
Why didn't I get an email saying action was taken on my report?
You won't receive an enforcement confirmation if:
- No action was needed after review
- Action was taken, but for a different reason than the one you reported
- Action had already been taken on the same content before your report
- The case involves alleged criminal behavior, where details are withheld to protect everyone's privacy and safety
Enforcement, Safety Policies & Dangerous Organizations
What actions can BIMeta take if I break the rules?
Outcomes depend on the violation and follow pre-determined policies. They include warnings (sometimes with content removal), loss of certain privileges, temporary suspensions lasting from 24 hours to 30 days, and indefinite suspension for the most serious offenses. Repeating a warned violation leads to a suspension, and repeated suspensions can lead to indefinite suspension. Read the full policy
Will BIMeta tell me why action was taken on my account?
Yes. When an enforcement decision is made, BIMeta tells the account holder the reason. It doesn't share enforcement details with the wider community, though you're free to share them yourself. Read the full policy
How do I appeal a moderation decision?
BIMeta's policies say users can appeal moderation decisions they believe were made in error or unfairly. Appeals or requests for reconsideration can be sent through the provided reporting channels or by email. Read more
What is BIMeta's policy on violence and threats?
BIMeta takes a zero-tolerance approach. Accounts found engaging in acts or threats of violence are immediately and indefinitely suspended, and serious cases may involve legal action and cooperation with law enforcement. Examples include threatening others, promoting violent ideologies, sharing dangerous stunts, and doxxing someone to incite violence. Read the full policy
What counts as harassment or bullying?
Prohibited behavior includes degrading or obscene language aimed at someone, sharing content of someone being physically bullied, degrading victims of tragedies, wishing serious harm on someone, doxxing, blackmail, hacking, and coordinated harassment. Constructive criticism, counter-speech that isn't retaliatory harassment, and criticism of adult public figures' actions are allowed. Read the full policy
Can I talk about mental health on BIMeta?
Yes. BIMeta encourages open, responsible, and sensitive conversations about mental health struggles. However, content that depicts, glorifies, or encourages self-harm or suicidal behavior, or that promotes dangerous challenges or activities likely to cause injury, is prohibited and will be removed. How old do I have to be to use BIMeta?
You must be 18 or older. Accounts found to belong to anyone under 18 are immediately suspended. BIMeta reports illegal content or activity involving minors to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC), and users are required to report such content to [email protected] or through the web portal. How does BIMeta handle dangerous organizations?
BIMeta classifies dangerous entities into three tiers:
- Tier 1: terrorist, organized hate, and criminal organizations, and those engaged in serious offline harm
- Tier 2: violent non-state actors that target state or military actors
- Tier 3: militarized social movements, violence-inducing conspiracy networks, and hate-banned entities

Can I discuss or report on a designated dangerous group?
Yes, content that references designated entities for reporting, condemning, or neutral discussion is permitted, but you must clearly indicate your intent. If intent is ambiguous or unclear, BIMeta defaults to removing the content. Praise, substantive support (such as fundraising, recruiting, or sharing their official messages without condemning context), and representation are not allowed. Read the full policy
Transparency & Government Requests
How does BIMeta respond to law enforcement requests for my data?
Except in uncommon emergencies, law enforcement must follow official U.S. legal procedures such as subpoenas, court orders, and search warrants. Certain data, such as messages, invitations, and connections, can only be disclosed with a valid search warrant from an authorized jurisdiction. Read the full policy
Will BIMeta tell me if a government asks for my data?
BIMeta's policy is to inform members of data requests before complying, unless prohibited by law or court order. In exceptional emergencies, it may need to act quickly without notice. Read the full policy
What about requests from governments outside the United States?
In most cases, requests from outside the U.S. and EU should come through official channels such as a Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty (MLAT) or a letter rogatory. BIMeta acknowledges some emergency situations may be exceptions. Read the full policy
I'm a law enforcement official. How do I submit a data request?
Include your badge/ID number and contact details, and identify the account by either the member's full name and associated email address, or their BIMeta public profile URL. Submit through the BIMeta Portal, or by certified mail, express courier, or in person to: BIMeta Corporation, Attn: Legal Department, 304 S. Jones Blvd #3671, Las Vegas, NV 89107. Does BIMeta publish transparency reports?
Yes. BIMeta says it publishes a Transparency Report biannually covering the quantity and nature of requests it receives. Reports are listed in the Transparency Center. Read more
Does BIMeta keep my data after I delete it?
BIMeta says users can control and delete their data, but it keeps a 30-day retention policy to comply with law enforcement worldwide in the fight against terrorist and extremist groups. Read the full policy
What is BIMeta's 4R program?
It's BIMeta's four-step approach to handling Community Standards violations:
- Relay/Warn: tell the user or group what the violation is
- Removal of content: remove content that isn't in line with the standards
- Reduce: reduce distribution of content that repeatedly causes issues
- Report: warn users about sensitive or misleading material

Terms, Licensing & Refunds
What agreement governs my use of the BIMeta platform and app?
The Terms of Service govern the social and business network platform, its auxiliary services, and the BIMeta Lite mobile app. BIMeta licenses its Services to you rather than selling them, granting a revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license subject to the Terms. Can BIMeta suspend my account or remove my content?
Yes. The Terms of Service reserve BIMeta's right, in its sole discretion and without notice, to refuse or suspend access to the Portal or your account, and to remove or edit content, including content you submitted. Read the full policy

Who controls my personal data at BIMeta, and how do I contact them?
BIMeta Corporation is the data controller for its website, platform, and app. Questions about data protection can be sent to [email protected]. Read the full policy
What personal data does BIMeta collect when I create an account?
Typically your name, email address, phone number, password, and job category. BIMeta also uses a one-time password (OTP) system that sends an authentication token to your phone by SMS, and may collect coarse location data for location-based features. If you sign up with Google, Facebook, or X, basic profile information (name, email, display picture) is shared with BIMeta. Read the full policy
How can I control cookies on the BIMeta website?
Essential cookies are always active, but BIMeta asks for your consent before placing non-essential cookies, such as analytics and marketing cookies (including Google Analytics and Google Ads). You can change your settings or withdraw consent at any time through the cookie consent tool; you may need to refresh the page. BIMeta's cookies are stored for a maximum of 2 years. What is the Data Processing Addendum (DPA)?
The DPA applies when you, as a business user, submit personal data to BIMeta's Services. You are the controller and BIMeta acts as your processor and service provider. BIMeta commits not to sell or share your users' personal data (as defined by the CCPA) or use it for purposes beyond those in the agreement. Read the full policy
Does BIMeta use AI, and how is it governed?
Yes. BIMeta uses an AI assistant called B.I.R.A. (BIMeta's Intelligent Response Agent), which it has assessed as limited risk. BIMeta says it designed B.I.R.A. on ethical principles, assigned responsibility for it to the CEO, and established formal governance. Questions can be sent to [email protected]. Read the full policy

BIMeta's Responsible and Ethical AI Policy, rooted in the EU AI Pact, commits to:

- Transparency, explainability, and accountability

Does BIMeta comply with GDPR and CCPA?
BIMeta states that it complies with applicable privacy and data protection laws, including GDPR and CCPA. It acknowledges users' rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict processing, object to processing, and data portability, and says it responds to requests in a timely manner as required by law. What rights do I have under GDPR?
BIMeta's GDPR overview lists these rights:

What rights do California residents have under the CCPA?
BIMeta's CCPA overview explains that California residents have the right to know what personal information is collected, the right to delete it (subject to exceptions), the right to opt out of its sale, and the right not to be discriminated against for exercising these rights. The CPRA added a right to correct inaccurate information and an expanded right to opt out. Read more
How does BIMeta protect my data when it's transferred internationally?
BIMeta has adopted Binding Corporate Rules (BCRs) that apply to all BIMeta Group entities, employees, contractors, vendors, and sub-processors, including those outside the EEA, to provide consistent protection wherever data is processed. Its Data Processing Addendum also references the EU and UK Standard Contractual Clauses. Read the full policy
What do the UK-to-USA Standard Contractual Clauses cover?
They govern personal data transferred from a UK-based data exporter to a US-based importer for providing services on the BIMeta platform. The importer must process data only as instructed, apply appropriate security, promptly report breaches, help respond to data subject requests, and not use sub-processors without prior written consent. What happens if there's a personal data breach?
Suspected breaches are reported to BIMeta's Data Protection Manager at [email protected], who issues a reference number, assesses the incident, and records it in a Data Breach Register. Where BIMeta is the controller and there's a high risk to affected people, the supervisory authority and affected individuals must be notified without undue delay, with 72 hours noted as good practice. Where BIMeta is a processor, it notifies the data controller. Read the full policy
Does BIMeta have an anti-money laundering policy?
Yes. BIMeta's AML/CFT policy commits it to US anti-money laundering and counter-terrorist financing laws, including the Bank Secrecy Act and USA PATRIOT Act, and FATF recommendations. It describes steps to verify client identities, detect questionable transactions, and report them to authorities, and applies to all staff, contractors, and third parties acting for BIMeta.
